Neighbors Bank strives to maintain the same commitment to friendly, personalized customer service that has been its hallmark for more than 70 years. As a locally-operated institution, we form close relationships with our customers. We are a "hometown bank" with deep roots in Clarence, Missouri serving the counties of Shelby, Macon, and Monroe. We have a proud history of leadership in our communities. Since 1945 we have been located at the corner of Chestnut and Center in downtown Clarence. History

Neighbors Bank received its charter in March 1945 with the Schoonover family playing an instrumental role in shaping the bank through three generations. A member of the Schoonover family managed the bank until 2016, when it joined the Columbia, Missouri-based bank holding company, Columbia Bancshares, Inc.

Casey Schwieter was named Clarence Market President in December 2017 when longtime President Lee Schoonover retired. Casey was born and raised in Shelby County and has a strong ag-banking background. Casey enjoys his role and the high touch, personalized style of banking that serves rural communities.

In September 2018 the Bank name changed from Clarence State Bank to Neighbors Bank. Though the name has changed, we still deliver products and services with the flexibility and personal attention that has always set us apart.
